Silver Lining

A sliver of light and color at the end of a drab and stormy early December day

I know it's been a while since I've been posting one of those ocean shots, but once in a while I just have to sprinkle one in...Here, the storm clouds gave way to a small band of orange at the end of the day. I just loved the speck of otherworldly red in the sky, but oh boy was it cold! I specifically drove down with tripod and all my gear to take photographs, and this is the only (& handheld) picture I took before running back to my car shivering like crazy!

Wheeling

Paddle boat at Bay Shore Harbor

This one actually floats and can be chartered for weddings, dinner parties and the likes, cruising the Great South Bay. It's not a replica but a restored original! Looked mighty pretty on this blue-sky day.

Trucking

Trucks at the Mohawk Service Station Upstate NY

Went on a little road trip up to my in-laws for a couple of days and couldn't post until now. Not much time to shoot on the day we left, busy before, dark when we got there. So here is the in between - stopping for burgers and a walk with the dog, delighting in the big rigs parked by the doggie lawn.

Cornered

Suburbia at its best

Stayed in most of the day due to wet weather, then ran some errands and even drove to the docks, all the while not seeing anything but telephone wires and white skies. Sometimes there's just no picture no matter how hard you try. Or maybe I just wasn't in the mood... Stepped out of the car in front of my house and spotted this abandoned toy ball right in my own back yard. I like this shot - a lot.
